Getting started on a landscape design project with us is simple!
1. Purchase a Package: Think about which yard(s) - front, back, side - you would like to design and make sure you know the approximate size of your property. These items will help determine which package is best for you. From there, you can review Happy Gardens of Austin's different add-ons to your design package, including 3D images and lighting plans. To get started, visit our Design page
2. Book a landscape designer visit: Once your purchase is complete, you will be sent to a booking page where you can choose a time that is convenient for you. After the booking, you will get a confirmation email and text reminder.
3. Meet Your Designer: Gather your inspirational pictures and take the designer on a tour of your yard to discuss your priorities. Your designer made a 3D scan of your property and will confirm the measurements.
4. Design Magic: Your designer gets to work on designing the yard of your dreams. This step typically takes 2-3 weeks, but trust us, it's worth the wait!
5. Voila! Design Delivered: Once you've reviewed your plans, you have up to 5 revisions. Then, it's time to start thinking about the installation!

We have a team of extremely talented landscape architects, designers, and horticulturalists weighing in on each design. Our design team is based throughout the US with expertise in all plant zones, sustainable landscaping, drought-tolerant and freeze-tolerant plants, xeriscapes, modern landscape design, vegetable gardening, and many more.
What should I expect from my meeting with my designer?
What should I expect from my meeting with my designer?
During the initial consultation with your landscape designer, you will have a friendly conversation about yourself, your home, your personal style, and how you use your outdoor spaces. You will also discuss your project goals and what you want to achieve with it. Whenever possible, we prefer to use video chat as it allows you to walk us around your yard and show us your space.

Up to 3 rounds of revisions are included in each design package within 45 days of receiving your initial plan. If additional changes are needed, they can be done for a fee, depending on the work scope required. Note that needing more than 3 revisions is extremely rare!
